Celebration of Fellows

October 16, 2020

When 2020 began, we were excited to host multiple events to shed light on our goal to impact students in our local schools through diversifying the teaching force. Due to Covid-19, two of our major events this year had to be reconfigured.

Rather than cancelling our plans for a fall event, we have decided to make this a virtual event. Our work in equity and social justice in the education system has grown to be even more necessary as we examine the current state of our country. Now more than ever, students in this community must experience a diverse learning environment.

African American Teaching Fellows strives to change the education system through the support and development of highly-qualified African American educators. In addition to awarding scholarships to African American college students, we offer year-round programming focused on professional growth, health and wellness, and community support.

While we cannot join in-person, we will host the virtual celebration of Fellows on October 16, 2020! Join us from anywhere in the world and celebrate our mission to support students K-12 schools! All videos will be live for your viewing beginning at noon and remain available through the entire weekend.

This year's keynote speaker will be the 2019 National Teacher of the Year, Rodney Robinson.
